Find out about COVID-19 vaccine requirements at AUT including exemption information, requirements for certain courses and workplace learning.
A My Vaccine Pass will not be required to access AUT campuses at Orange.
Some courses require practical assessments such as clinical placements in healthcare settings. Unvaccinated students’ ability to complete the requirements of these courses may be impacted based on the government’s mandate for different sectors.
Courses involving other work-based learning components may also be affected.
Any students who choose not to be vaccinated are advised to check their programme requirements to determine whether they can complete their programme without being vaccinated.
AUT is committed to delivering work integrated learning opportunities for our students as part of the academic requirements of our programmes. However, workplace learning will be managed subject to the policies, practices, and public health requirements that apply to that workplace, including vaccination requirements.
The government has issued a COVID-19 vaccination mandate for some sectors, which may affect students going on placement for their work integrated learning requirements and subsequently achieve the academic requirements of associated programmes. For courses requiring public interaction, students will not be able to complete the mandatory clinical and practicum elements at any level of the COVID-19 Protection Framework until they are vaccinated. This is a requirement of those workplaces and the Government Health Order.
If you’re an affected student, AUT will need to collect your COVID-19 vaccination status and information which identifies you. The dates on which you received your doses will also be requested. AUT will only collect health information which is necessary for your placement and use it to coordinate with your service provider.
