Design Your Life Bright Side programme

Design your dream life, create your own playbook for envisioning and achieving life goals, discover how to live a life of balance, develop resilience in the face of setbacks, and feel a sense of value and meaning from the areas you dedicate your time and energy to.

The programme is free for all AUT students.

Programme sessions will be held at AUT’s City Campus on the following dates:

  • Wednesday 10 April, 10am – 2pm
  • Thursday 11 April, 10am – 2pm

A momentum meeting will be held at AUT’s City Campus on the following date:

  • Wednesday 1 May, 10am – 12pm

About Melissa Jenner, Certified Design Your Life Coach

Melissa Jenner is regarded in New Zealand as an expert practitioner and trainer in the field of applying design thinking. Through her business START Now, she works with businesses to integrate design into their strategic plans and service propositions, with teams to help design careers that are sustainable and purposeful, and individuals to design lives with meaning and experimentation.

Before starting her own business Melissa was director of Better by Design at NZTE, and before that served as a director – Global Dealing for Barclays Wealth in London, and was SVP Marketing & Communications at Cantor Fitzerald in New York, and Microsoft EMEA based in London.

She is an active skier, book collector, trained Lifeline coach, and a member of the Designers Institute of New Zealand. Melissa lives in Queenstown, but operates her business nationwide and globally.

Eligibility

To apply for the programme, you must be:

  • An AUT student in New Zealand, studying a degree level programme, part-time or full-time.
  • Able to commit to all programme dates.
  • Able to go through a selection process to participate.

Information video

Should your application be successful, you'll be emailed a short introductory video on what to expect from Bright Side and the programme. It's important that you watch this to gauge whether you want to follow through with the sessions.

Spaces on the programme are limited and not all applicants will be selected, but there will be a waiting list for future programmes.
