Employability Lab: what's available

We're here to help you consider your career options and develop your skills to become highly employable. You can visit us at the Employability Lab at the City Campus, make an appointment to see a specialist at any campus, or visit us online at Elab Online where you'll find job ads and resources, and can book into events, workshops and appointments.

Visit the Employability Lab at the City Campus

Our team is based at the Employability Lab on the City Campus. You're welcome to drop in any time to ask a question, chat, use our resources or attend the employability workshops we run here regularly.

At the Employability Lab you can get help to:

  • Improve your CV, job search or interview techniques through workshops and our online interview practice tool - shortlist.me
  • Increase your networking skills by attending speaker series, career fairs, workshops and presentations.
  • Make contact with employers looking for students for co-operative education, work experience placements or voluntary work through speaker series, industry panels and employer presentations.
  • Review your career direction or figure out whether you're in the right programme by talking to a career specialist.
  • Sign up for our employability awards, AUT Edge Award and Beyond AUT Award

Use Employability Lab Online to browse jobs, resources and events

Employability Lab Online (or Elab Online) is where you’ll find heaps of resources to use whenever you need them. You can also browse career-related jobs, internships and graduate programme vacancies. Check in regularly because events, workshops, jobs and resources are updated frequently.

Use Elab Online to:

  • Find jobs relevant to your studies through our job boards
  • Book into employability workshops and employer events, including career fairs
  • Book an appointment with a career or employability specialist
  • Find out about workplace placement opportunities
  • Browse our career resources, including the CV and LinkedIn drop boxes
  • Ask our employability specialists an employability related question through Live Chat (look for the red pop-up box when you enter Elab Online)
  • Check out My CareerLab’s huge library of resources, including Career Pulse and opportunities to explore your preferences, interests and career options
