Writing from home can seem daunting and hard to make good progress. Fortunately, AUT’s SUAW sessions are now available via Zoom.
These sessions are a chance to dedicate some focused time to working on your writing (literally Shut Up and Write) and hold yourself accountable for your work. You can work on anything writing related, so long as you work!

Need some research training but finding it hard to get along to a live workshop? Our friends at Academic Consulting have put together a suite of self-paced training videos, along with downloadable resources and Q&A support. These cover either Qualitative Essentials or Quantitative Essentials and the content is available for 90 days. AUT Postgraduate Researchers can express an interest in one of these bundles by emailing pgresearcherdevelopment@aut.ac.nz letting us know which bundle you would like to access. Numbers are limited so get in touch soon if you are keen.

Access comprehensive information about research ethics, including current forms on the AUT website. Of particular note, there is a decision tree to help you work through whether you need ethics approval or not.
Visit the AUT Scholarships Database for scholarship information and application forms; this is updated on a daily basis. New scholarships are listed regularly in this database and currently well over 240 schemes are listed. Although a search engine is available it is important not to limit your search too far – start broad and narrow it down if there are many opportunities that aren’t relevant. If you are applying over the next few weeks do remember to read the essential tips document.

These sessions will enable you to build your own “wellness toolkit” to enhance resilience and wellbeing. They are monthly opportunities to meet with other postgraduates for discussions facilitated by a mental health advisor/counsellor with in-person and online attendance options.
