Canvas

Canvas is AUT’s new web-based learning environment where students can access course materials including lecture slides, course readings, assessments, grades, and your academic team all in one place. Once you’ve enrolled into your courses for the semester, all your course materials will be available in Canvas – either through your web browser or the Canvas Student app.

Getting guest access when you join a Teams meeting?

If you’re only getting guest access when you join a class or meeting on Teams, it's because you're not logged in with your AUT network details. When you move between Canvas and Office 365 (including Teams), you may need to log in again each time:

  • Before you click to join a Teams class or meeting, make sure you are logged in using your AUT network login name and password
  • Use the Teams app on your laptop or PC instead of the browser version, so you have full functionality
