Exams

You may need to sit an exam for the courses you're studying at AUT. Not all courses include an exam. Your course material will explain if your course includes an exam or if you need to complete other assignments for this course instead.

Get help with your exam skills

If you need help with test and exam skills, the AUT library runs a series of online and face-to-face workshops.

What to do if you can't sit a test or an exam

At some point in your study, for reasons out of your control, you may not be able to sit a scheduled exam. If this happens, it's important that you contact your lecturer, programme leader or programme administrator, and let them know as soon as possible or at least within 14 days of the exam date. They will advise you what to do in this situation.

If you don't have a valid reason for missing the exam or haven't notified the teaching department within the required time, you'll receive a failing grade for your examination.
